1. Find the sample tests

Open the Mental Maths menu and choose Home Tests. Then select See the Free Tests.

2. Choose a year group

Pick your child's year group to see the sample test for it.

3. Run the test

Sit somewhere quiet with the sound turned up, and give your child a pencil and paper. Each question is read aloud twice, then your child has a set time to write their answer before the next question begins.

4. Go through the answers

At the end, the answers play one question at a time. It's a great chance to talk with your child about how they worked each one out.

Good to know

• The sample tests – and every test you create with Home Access – are completely different from the tests schools use, so your child won't repeat a test they've done in class.
• With a subscription, every test is made fresh for your child's year group and term.
